Cocoon curls and other fine hairstyles

Per my Facebook post I had tried Cocoon curls on Lali's hair, it sounds more complicated then it actually is.  What you do is twist the hair, make a loop, then wrap the remaining hair around the loop, swoop the bottom end halfway through the loop and give it a tug.  Thus creating a cocoon shape with a looped bottom that is easy to pull back out of your hair.  Unfortunately my daughters hair is so baby fine that only one of the cocoon curls stayed put!!  So she only had one section of curly hair and the rest fell straight as usual.  Needless to say if I want to curl her hair I will stick to the rag curls, cause for her soft hair it just works better.  Her end result was such a flop I had to braid her hair that day.

Unhappy end results in braid  :(

Well I went investigating other interesting hairstyles that I could do with my daughters hair, and I came across a swept up look that I thought was age appropriate and super cute, I call it the swept up pigtails.  This look isn't as complicated as it looks and entails several sections of hair swept across the back of the head and added to pigtails.  The other look is six strand braid that I found to be a bit hard, but I learned a trick that helped take some of the confusion away.  I secured each section with a different colored elastic as to not get confused when weaving the braid.  I really like this look because it gives the feel of basket weaving to the classic braided ponytail.  Hope you like them!!
