I found a new Church!!!

I would like to start out by saying that the way I found this wonderful church was an unfortunate tragedy.  My mom has been friends with Delia for years, since the 70’s, the untimely death of her youngest son brought me to La Primera Iglesia Christiana.  The services for his funeral were beautiful, well worded, and heartfelt.  Now obviously his friends and family provided so much of the love that they shared for him, he had led a wonderful life, and he was a beautiful person.  What really “lured” me in was the sermon that Pastor Juaquin provided.  His words were moving, his relationship with the deceased and family showed me that he really gets involved with his parishioners.  The funeral was Friday so I went to Sunday service and just as I suspected…it was phenomenal!!!  My children enjoyed themselves, my oldest understood the service, and I felt at home amongst new people.  So comfortable that on my first visit I went up with the children to rec...

Valentine’s Day!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s day, I know that I did!!  My husband and I exchanged gifts, which was refreshing because we are usually to BROKE to afford gifts!!  We surprised each other with jewelry.  I got three pair of earrings and he got a necklace with matching bracelet!!!  YAY!!  We still haven’t had our date night, that will be Saturday after our youngest son’s birthday party.  My baby’s turning 3!!  He’s growing so fast I can hardly believe my eyes!!    My baby Christian when he was born!!   Three years ago, I was pregnant with a baby that I wasn’t even sure I really wanted!  I had three kids and was going crazy taking care of two toddlers, just thinking about another baby was so overwhelming.  Now I am a happy mother of 4 and couldn’t even imagine my life without my baby boy!!  Love you so much Christian! Christian last summer!!

So busy...

I've been so busy with school & home, I've hardly had a moments rest.  Went shopping the other day to relieve some stress, it felt great!  At first I was on high trying on shoes and checkin out clothes, but by the end of the trip I was biting my fingernails! I was so nervous cuz I NEVER spend $$ on myself! When I got home my work was there waiting for me!  I had dinner, dishes, and homework...not to mention bedtime stories for my lil ones!  My life is hectic and I love it...but sometimes I get so tired!  I would love a weekend with just me and my husband, but with four kids I find it difficult to find a sitter!  My children are so small and that just makes it worse.  I'm constantly cleaning up after them and asking my oldest son to help me with remedial tasks that should be easy for me.  I am clearly bogged down and tired all of the time.  The fatigue is killing me...

Six years strong….

It’s my view that in a relationship the male and female should both put forth the same amount of effort and energy into making sense of the relationship.  Now I’m not saying that a relationship should be hard to work at because when two people mesh well together relating to each other shouldn’t be a problem.  However, when the hustle and bustle of everyday life enter the picture, then yes you need to “work” at it.  It should stay to reason that you reap what you sow, you get what you put in.  My husband and I are great friends, we get along well and enjoy the same pass times.  Sometimes, as any couple will tell you, we argue and we’ve had some doozies.  Lately we’ve changed the way we argue, we slowed down on the screaming and insults.  Now we just stop talking for a few minutes till we gather our thoughts and figure out how to say what we mean without being mean!  It’s amazing how we’ve grown as a couple!!! This is us six years ago….and still ...

How I became the kind of mother I am today

Mothering is not something that comes naturally to every woman, and believe me when I say it isn’t easy.  Not at all!  I owe my nurturing skills to my own mom.  This woman took care of my brother and I when my father left us.  It was just us three, mom, my big brother, and I for a long time.  She worked a full time job to support us and still had time to spend with us teaching us values.  To this day my mom, my brother, and I are still so close.  My mom and I speak on a daily basis even if it’s just to say “Hi, what are you up to?”  She taught me to be attentive to my family, kind, honest, and loving.  I owe everything I am to my mother, and I want her to know that I love her and thank her for all that she has done.  Thank you to my beautiful mom, I love you so much!!

Just another day

Just finished up logging in some participation time at the University of Phoenix.  Currently I’m taking psy 390, also known as Learning and Cognition.  I’m enjoying this course because it has to do with my favorite pass time…learning.  I love learning and if I could make a career out of being a college student I would because of all the areas of interest that I have.  My kids are the same way (so far), they love school and the knowledge they pick up.  They love reading and the little ones love coloring too.  I hope they star artistic, Lord knows I can’t draw a stick figure!!  Well I just wanted to write another post so that I can get into the habit of writing often.  Good luck to you all!!
